The 2008 Ford Taurus comes with a choice of three engines. The first is a 3.0 L Vulcan V6 engine with automatic overdrive transaxle, or the 3.0L Duratec V-6 has 24 valves and dual overhead cams, features long associated with high performance engines (standard on the SEL). The third available engine is optional on all models except the 2003 2008 Taurus SEL sedan and wagon, 3.0 L Vulcan V-6 Flex Fuel engine with auto overdrive trans-axle.
On the 2008 Ford Taurus SEL models the standard seating is a 5-passenger seating: cloth bucket seats with center seating, front armrest, two-way head restraints, front seat map pockets, floor console and floor shift. The Sport Package is only available for the Taurus SES Sedan as an option and includes two-tone cloth sport seats, pewter brush finish on center instrument panel stack and floor console surround.
