2008 2009 Chevy Avalanche offers a Vortec 5300 V8 SFI engine in Avalanche has 285 horsepower, standard in the Avalanche 2500. Avalanche 1500 4x4 also is available with Chevy's Z71 OffRoad Package which includes the Z71 suspension, 17-inch wheels, highcapacity air cleaner, skid plates and locking rear differential and rubberized vinyl floor mats.
Chevy also offers, the North Face Edition which features the Autotrac 4x4 and specially designed instrumentation panel, one-year On Star Plan, two waterresistant Duffalo Bags and two Summit Pod Daypacks.
The Autotrac transfer case (4x4 models only) makes adjusting to road conditions easy. When the system is engaged, power is automatically transferred between the rear and front wheels whenever rear-wheel slippage is detected.
